Wearing a mascot costume for a long time is warm work. Two parts help: a small fan fixed in the head keeps air moving around the face, and a cooling vest under the inner liner helps release body heat over long performances.

Deciding whether you need cooling

A mascot head is a closed space, and heat and humidity gather quickly around the face. This is most noticeable at events, matches, parades, trade shows and promotions, where the performer stays inside for a long stretch. The fan works on the head and the vest works on the body, so each source of discomfort has its own answer.

You do not have to take both. Use the fan alone for short appearances, the vest alone under a light costume, or combine them for long days.

Picking and using a power bank

The fan runs through a USB connection and the power bank is not included. Look for one with a standard USB output, read the fan details in your quote, and ask us if you are unsure which suits your order.

Charge it before every appearance and keep a spare for long days. The wire passes through the costume's hidden pocket, so the power bank stays out of sight and the performer keeps both hands free.

Getting the vest to sit well

The cooling vest is worn close to the body, beneath the inner liner. The liner covers it completely, so the costume looks exactly the same from the outside.

Follow this order: vest, then inner liner, then costume. It keeps the vest against the body and makes dressing quick, even when several performers need to change in a short time.

Looking after the equipment

Switch the fan off and unplug it before cleaning. Wipe the housing with a dry or slightly damp cloth, never put the fan in water, and let the inside of the head dry completely before putting it away.

Read the care label on the vest and the inner liner, and store everything somewhere dry and ventilated. Look over the wire and connector now and then, and replace any damaged part before the next use.

Looking after the performer

Cooling gear makes a costume more pleasant, but it is no substitute for rest. Plan regular breaks in a cool place, keep water at hand, and stop immediately if the performer feels dizzy or unwell.

On long events, agree on a signal with a helper who can guide the performer and watch for signs of fatigue.

Adding it to your mascot

You can request the fan and the cooling vest together with a new custom mascot. Mention them in your quote request or pick the option when you order, and tell us how long the performer usually stays in the costume so that we can advise you.

What you gain

  • Quick cooling thanks to strong airflow
  • A vest that fits comfortably
  • Portable and USB powered
  • Safe, durable and well made
  • Suited to sports, events and promotions

Questions before you add it

What do I need to run the fan?

A USB power bank, which is not included. The wire goes through the hidden pocket, and the fan is easy to fit and to remove.

Can I choose only the fan or only the vest?

Yes. The two parts are independent, so you can use the fan alone, the vest alone, or both together.

Does the vest show from the outside?

No. The inner liner covers it, and the costume goes over both.

How do I ask for these options?

Choose them when you order, or mention them in your quote request.
