What about sizes and comfort for the performer?

Comfort depends mostly on who wears the costume and for how long, so mention both when you ask for your quote.

For long appearances or warm weather, consider a cooling vest and a balaclava. Plan regular breaks, and have a helper nearby to guide the performer, since a mascot head can limit vision.

How should you care for and store the costume?

Keep the costume clean and dry between uses, and store it in a bag away from damp.

Let it air out after each event before you pack it. A bag helps protect it during transport and storage. A spare pair of shoes can be useful if the costume is used often.
